Bulls halt Warriors charge for first innings points
Queensland is on the verge of claiming first innings points after day two of the Pura Cup match against
Western Australia at the Gabba Ground in Brisbane.
Following the bowling heroics of Brett Dorey, who remained wicketless today as the Queenslanders were
bowled out for 308, Michael Kasprowicz has replied with 6-87 and collected his 400th Pura Cup wicket.
The Warriors were cruising towards a first innings lead with an hour to play (3-258), Kasprowicz, however,
claimed three wickets in 12 balls to leave the Warriors reeling at 8-293 when bad light was offered.
Earlier, Andrew Bichel went on the attack and added 17 runs to his overnight score. Chris Simpson (8) fell
in the third over of the morning when he cut the ball to Rogers, while Bichel (22) was eventually bowled by
Ben Edmondson.
Dorey was the best of the bowlers with 7-87, while Matthew Inness claimed 2-80 and Edmondson 1-78. For the
Bulls Lachlan Stevens and Clinton Perren top scored on day one, while Kasprowicz (1*) remained not out.
Chris Rogers (21) was the first of the former Test bowlers six wickets. The Warriors at the lunch break
were 1-54. Marcus North shared in two 88-run partnerships for the second and third wickets.

Match Summary :: Day Two |
Clinton Heron (54) hit 10 fours in his 124-ball innings, North and Damien Martyn saw the Warriors past 200
before Kasprowicz snared North (79) with Chris Simpson taking the catch at cover.
Martyn capitalised on his return to first-class cricket with 79, before he played the ball onto his stumps.
Kasprowicz then snared Shaun Marsh in his next over, for a fifth ball duck, and completed the treble with Adam
Voges (27) bowled, in the 88th over.
Ashley Noffke (2-41) thwarted the Warriors attempt to reach stumps only six down when he trapped Beau
Casson lbw without troubling the scorers, and three balls later had Ryan Campbell slashing the ball through
to keeper Chris Hartley.
The Warriors at the close of play are still 15 runs behind, with only two wickets in hand it is going to be
a nervous start to day three.
Play resumes tomorrow morning at 10:00am local time.
