Raiders launch Rugby League Road Train
The Canberra Raiders will launch the 2006 Coca-Cola Zero Rugby League Road Train at the Royal Canberra Show
this weekend kick-starting a nine month journey around Australia promoting Rugby League in regional areas.
A host of exciting activities have been included for the 2006 Road Train season including “Be a player” –
the ultimate interactive experience which puts fans in real game situations.
The ever-popular “Video Ref” and “Call the Game” will return along with the new “Who am I?” – an
enthralling game which will test even the most ardent Rugby League fan’s knowledge of the game.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to see priceless Rugby League memorabilia and participate in one
of last year’s most popular activities, cheer leading classes.
Introduced in 2001 with the objective of promoting Rugby League in regional areas the 25 metre, 30 tonne
Road Train has travelled more than 100,000kms and had more than 300,000 visitors pass through the doors.
“The Road Train has become an integral part of promoting Rugby League to fans of all ages in regional
Australia,” NRL CEO Mr David Gallop said.
“With the 2006 Telstra Premiership about to kick off, the unveiling of the new Rugby League Road Train
provides a great lead into to an exciting year of footy ahead”.
