Marsh and Geeves return for Tigers
Daniel Marsh will return to first-class cricket for the first time this season
when Tasmania tackle Western Australia in a four-day game commencing on
Wednesday in Hobart.
The Tigers' skipper hasn't fronted this season after having a plate inserted in his
dislocated shoulder.
Also making a welcome return is fast-bowler Brett Geeves, who returns after
recovering from stress fractures to his right foot, which have prevented him
from playing for the majority of the year.
With both the Tigers and Warriors sitting in fifth and sixth positions
respectively with eight points in six matches, the winner will maintain a slim
hope of scraping into the final - New South Wales and South Australia
currently sit in equal first with 20 points - while the loser will almost
certainly be knocked out of calculation.
Western Australian keeper Luke Ronchi will play his first Pura Cup match in
almost three years following the retirement of Ryan Campbell, while
vice-captain Marcus North will further boost the Warriors' batting strength
when he returns after recovering from a broken finger.
