Koschitzke collapses on-air

Footy '06 @ Sports Australia St Kilda star Justin Koschitzke collapsed on-air this morning during a live cross on Channel Seven's Sportsworld program.

Koschitzke was reviewing the action from Round 12 with ex-player David Schwarz, and when asked about how Western Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade would be feeling in the wake of an injury to Mitchell Hahn, `Kosi' uttered a slurred response.

The 196cm ruckman then lost his balance, firstly leering toward Schwarze before looking dazed falling backwards.

The ruckman had only just returned to training with the Saints after suffering a fractured skull from a collusion with Western Bulldogs midfielder Daniel Giansiracusa in Round 6.

Koschitzke, 23, had only recently spoken of his desire to stay in the game following a spate of freak injuries which have curtailed his promising career.

Sportsworld presenter Joanna Griggs said later in the program that Koschitzke had recovered to be "coherent" and was "embarrassed" about the incident.

Koschitzke has since been discharged from Melbourne's Epworth Hospital after scans cleared him of any danger. Doctors confirmed there was no link between this scare and his recent on-field collusion.
