Manly win in a thriller


NRL Telstra Premiership The Manly Sea Eagles have got there first win of the 2006 season by defeating the Sharks by 20 points to 18 at Brookvale Oval tonight.

The Sharks got off to a great start early on when Brett Kimmorley put a kick through for Adam Dykes who put the ball down over the line to get the first try of the game.

Ten minutes later the Sharks got another try with Darren Albert scoring in the corner to get the Sharks at 10-0 lead.

Manly managed to make it a four point ball game seven minutes before halftime after Brett Stewart crossed the line to get Manly a try before that halftime break.

The Sharks got things started in the second half with a penalty goal before Manly get two tries with Travis Burns and Steve Bell crossing the line to get Manly in the lead but six points.

The Sharks managed to get back within two, four minutes before fulltime but they couldn’t get over the line to snatch the match from Manly.

Next week Manly take on the Roosters at Brookvale and the Sharks host Souths with both of them playing on Saturday Night.
