Winger Bertos is Glory’s latest addition
New Zealand international, Leo Bertos, has signed for Perth Glory as the West Australian club continues to
rebuild for the second Hyundai A-League season.
The 24-year-old winger has played the majority of his career in English football and can play on either
side of midfield; boosting Glory’s attacking options in 2006/07.
Perth Glory has now signed a total of 15 players for next season’s squad and Bertos is the second Kiwi to
sign, alongside midfielder Jeremy Christie, formerly with the New Zealand Knights.
Currently playing with English side Worksop Town on a short-term contract, Bertos is expected to be a key
member of New Zealand’s team to play Brazil and Chile in South America prior to June and July’s World Cup.
Perth Glory’s technical manager, Mich d’Avray, said: “Leo Bertos is someone who should be able to provide
the team a bit of spark on either wing. He has a burst of pace and comes highly recommended by New Zealand
national team coach Ricki Herbert.”
“He was the man of the series when New Zealand met Malaysia recently and Leo should be someone who can make
an impact for Perth Glory next season in the Hyundai A-League.”
Bertos has signed a two-year deal with the club and will arrive in Perth for pre-season training later in
the year.
