Rugby World Cup tickets on sale this Thursday

Australian Rugby Rugby fans can secure stand alone Rugby World Cup tickets to individual pool matches from this Thursday, including the Australian Wallabies’ pool matches against Wales, Fiji, Canada and Asia 1 (likely to be Japan).

Tickets will go on sale online at www.rugbyworldcup.com at 7pm this Thursday evening (Australia Eastern Daylight Saving Time). Depending on availability, tickets to the Quarter Finals may also be on offer.

The 2007 Rugby World Cup will be the first time fans have been able to purchase stand alone tickets without having to purchase an official travel package. This option was not available to overseas fans when the tournament was hosted in Australia in 2003.

However, for fans who would prefer to get a good deal on their travel and accommodation, and avoid the rush for online tickets, the Australian Rugby Union and Wallaby Travel have a wide range of packages to suit all budgets.

Gary Flowers, ARU Managing Director and CEO, said there were several options for Wallaby fans to secure their World Cup tickets.

“Regardless of whether you are a backpacker who wants a ticket to one Wallaby pool match, or a corporate heavyweight who wants to follow the Wallabies on a full European tour, there are tickets available.

“Ever since England beat the Wallabies in extra time at Telstra Stadium three years ago, Australian Rugby fans have been looking forward to France 2007.

“The time has now come to secure the chance to witness Rugby history.

“The availability of stand alone tickets allows all fans the opportunity to make the trip to France next year”.

ARU Hospitality Packages

The Australian Rugby Union offers a comprehensive range of hospitality packages for Wallaby fans. These range from the Sky Box Package which caters to those seeking an ultra exclusive, personal experience of dining and viewing, to the more informal Premier Package targeted at those looking for an informal but exciting Rugby experience.

The Australian Rugby Union is an Authorised and Official Sub Agent of Cavendish Hospitality, the Official Hospitality Agent for Rugby World Cup 2007.

Wallaby Travel Packages

Wallaby Travel, a partner of the Australian Rugby Hospitality, has created an wide range of tours catering to all levels of Wallaby fans.

Tours include flights and accommodation and range from the 10-day Rugby Escape Tour (including both Semi-Finals, the Final and the 3rd / 4th Playoff), up to the all-encompassing 44-day Rugby Odyssey Tour for the fanatic Wallaby enthusiast (12 Pool Matches including every Wallaby match, two Quarter Finals, two Semi Finals, the Final and the 3rd / 4th Playoff).
