Lee takes out Football West Gold Medal Award
The 2005 Football West McInerney Ford Gold Medal Award was won by Mark Lee of Bayswater City.
The 26 year old midfielder who was transferred to Bayswater from the Western Knights on the transfer
deadline day won by one vote from Perth SC’s Robert Puca, and in third place was Inglewood United’s Shaun
Kilkelly. For Lee it was a reward for his hard work and dedication on and off the field.
“Yes I’m delighted to win this award. It was very frustrating not getting regular starting football at the
Knights and Bayswater came along and I jumped at the chance.”
Lee added, “I’ve been very fortunate to have won with every team I’ve been involved with, the Boral Cup for
Swan IC in 2003, the league title with the Knights in 2004 and to finish 2005 with this award with Bayswater
is fantastic. I really enjoy playing in the middle of the park and Sal and the coaching staff have given me
the opportunity to play there and I can’t thank them enough.”
