Blues continue onslaught
The New South Wales Blues have continued their onslaught of the Redbacks on the third day of the Pura Cup
match at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Despite the best efforts of captain, Darren Lehmann, who made a century, South Australia still required a
massive 346 runs for victory with only seven wickets in hand.
The Blues continued on in their 2nd innings of batting, imposing themselves on the match declaring at 2-187
to set the Redbacks a huge total for victory. Blues captain Simon Katich (79*) and opener Phil Jacques (66)
shared a partnership in excess of 100 before declaring.
Brett Lee claimed first blow for the Blues claiming the wicket of Matthew Elliot, wrapping him on the pads
for a duck.
Glenn McGrath trapped Shane Deitz for a lowly two, before Stuart MacGill Cullen Bailey, the night watchman
in the last over of the day.
Play will resume tomorrow from the Sydney Cricket Ground at 10:30am (AEST), with the Redbacks dangerously
poised at 3-14. The not-out batsmen are Greg Blewett (11) and Callum Ferguson (0).
