NSW Blind Cricket Team Challenge
The weather is warming up and what better way to spend a warm summer's Sunday than with the family watching a
never seen before in Ulladulla Blind Cricket match.
The Milton IGA Blind Cricket match is tipped to be the event of the season for the South Coast. The day
will be hilarious with fun to be had by all and definitely not to be missed.
On Sunday October 22 October starting at 10am, the NSW Blind Cricket Team will play an 80 over one day game
against the Ulladulla United Cricket President XI team at the Lighthouse Oval Deering St Ulladulla.
The NSW Blind Team is made up of both totally blind and vision impaired players with some players also
playing for the Australian Blind Cricket Team.
The President XI team will consist of cricket players with normal vision put together by the Ulladulla
United Cricket Club. They will play the one day game blindfolded against the NSW Blind Team and have started
training in the lead up to the game with Illawarra Cricket Academy coach Alan Hayter according to the
international blind cricket rules.
The IGA Milton sponsored fixture, will celebrate Shoalhaven's contribution to celebrating International
Disability Day and will involve several community service organisations which will promote a great family
free- day outing, where the whole Shoalhaven community has the unbelievable opportunity to see some of
Australia's most prominent blind cricketers in action.
Guest appearances by former Australian Test Cricket players, including Len Pascoe as commentator to the
game. There will be a Mark Waugh signed cricket bat raffle and former Cricket players John Dyson and Steve
Smith will be present for the big day to take part in the festivities.
On the day there will be free rides for the kids on the jumping castle, and other activities. So come on
down with the family and bring your picnic rugs and chairs. being entertained at the lunch break by the
African Drumming Band and a Milo mini-cricket display with several former Australian Test players attending
to sign autographs.
