National Competition Takes Shape in NSW
The National Competition puzzle in Sydney is almost complete, with all bar one Sydney premiership club
nominating their team of preference ahead of the due date.
At present, only Northern Suburbs is yet to align with a National Competition team ahead of the
Wednesday deadline.
“It’s great to get some certainty and alignment from the clubs,” NSWRU Chief Executive Fraser Neill
said.
“Their positive responses have allowed us to get well down the path of planning the new competition.
“The response from our commercial partners has also been encouraging, as has the keenness of a number of
venues after the location of each team was decided.”
The final results of the nominations process will be announced once all clubs have responded.
In the meantime, the development of brands and logos for the three NSW teams is underway, with design
workshops involving stakeholders from each team being held this week.
National competition teams will play out of North Sydney Oval (Sydney), Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium
(Central Coast) and either the Sydney Showground at Homebush or Parramatta Stadium (Sydney West).
