Squads named for Weekend Action
South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland have all made a number of changes to there sides
for there Pura Cup battles beginning on Friday.
Matthew Elliot and Stuart Clark headline those returning for the second round of the Pura Cup which has
already commenced in Perth, with the game between Tasmania and Western Australia.
Elliot and wicketkeeper Graham Manou return to the South Australian side for its clash in the Pura Cup up
against Victoria at Adelaide Oval. Both players played in the opening Ford Ranger Cup match against New South
Wales but were ruled out of the Pura Cup game due to injury.
Elliot is returning from injured ribs while Manou was forced out of the game due to suffering from stress
fractures in his foot. Shane Deitz hands the gloves back to Manou while Nathan Adcock makes way at the top of
the order for the former Australian opener.
The Redbacks opponents the Victorian Bushrangers have been forced to make one change to there side that
lost to Western Australia in the opening round. In form fast bowler Shane Harwood is forced to miss due to
injury and adds to the growing list of Bushrangers bowlers injured with Allan Wise, Peter Siddle and Dirk
Nannes all out through injury. Clinton McKay has been named in the 12 man squad and will look to make his
first class debut for the Vics.
The winner of the clash between Victoria and South Australia will gain points towards winning the David
Hookes Memorial Trophy which South Australia won last season.
South Australia squad:

Meanwhile, the New South Wales Blues have made a handy inclusion with the addition of Australian pace
bowler Stuart Clark, however they will miss legspinner Stuart MacGill for the next two games who was
suspended for misconduct following an incident playing grade cricket on the weekend.
Clark is returning from a thigh injury that kept him out of the ICC Champions Trophy, he is taking the
place of MacGill whose appeal against his two match ban is heard on Monday by Cricket NSW. Clark was at
first expected to miss six weeks but has made a quicker then expected recovery.
Clark is finding it hard watching from the sidelines as the Aussies bowling attack heading into the Ashes
looks to be taking some structure, "I have always said that I am not guaranteed a spot for the Ashes. There
are probably three options in front of the selectors: playing two spinners, going for more out-and-out pace,
or playing someone who can bowl more of a Glenn McGrath line-and-length."
In the Ford Ranger Cup match against Queensland on Wednesday, NSW has left out Matthew Nicholson from the
one day side as Aaron Bird comes into both teams and in the four day squad he replaces Scott Coyte.
Queensland have made just the one change to both of there side however with the Bulls adding Chris Swan at
the expense of injured, Nathan Rimmington. Allrounder Swan is looking to make his first class debut versus
the Blues.
The Bulls also made one change to there Ford Ranger Cup squad for Wednesday replacing Nathan Rimmington in
the one day squad is Scott Brant who is looking for his first apearance for the Bulls since 2004.
The Bulls meet defending domestice one day chamions, New South Wales in a day-nighter at the Gabba on
Wednesday.
