Profile:
Ben Carbonaro

AFL, Cricket and Netball Reporter for Sports Australia since September 2004, Ben is an aspiring Sports Journalist and is currently studying the Professional Writing & Editing course at RMIT in Melbourne with a view to completing a journalism degree.

Since taking on the role of the Melbourne netball reporter, Ben has been behind the website’s successful coverage of the Commonwealth Bank Trophy and Australian international matches.

Ben has further expanded the range of sports he has covered, being SportsAustralia.com’s reporter at the 2005 World Gymnastics Championships and the Commonwealth Games Swimming Trials.

Ben is currently in his second season as a statistician for VFL club Werribee and is thoroughly enjoying the experience working in a professional football environment, where he is exposed to AFL club the Western Bulldogs.

Working for SportsAustralia.com has led to some further writing opportunities for different websites and should hopefully lead to more in the future. Check out Ben’s blog.
