Reporter for SportsAustralia in 2006, A person has always had a liking for writing and sport, Luke received an opportunity to blend the two together when he began writing match reports and articles for Nicks Collingwood Page at the beginning of the 2004 season, when the website relaunched.

Mason became well known in the Magpie online community, taking on an active role on Nicks Bulletin Board, talking all things Magpies.

In the early stages of 2005, Luke was fortunate to find a role on the Official Website of the Collingwood Football Club, writing the occasional match review, as well as penning pre-season training reports in the summer months – which were full of depth and analysis.

Only a year later, Luke joined the Sports Australia team, plying his skills in the areas of football and cricket.

Aside from journalism, Luke also has an eye for sports broadcasting, hoping to move into the area when the occasion arises.

Luke hopes to use his time at Sports Australia as a place to continue to learn the journalistic caper, as well as providing an accurate service for all who visit the website. In the future, he hopes to use it as a springboard for future aspirations – for example writing for a major newspaper, or perhaps calling an AFL Grand Final on TV/Radio.
